Brief description

As part of the earthwork for the 3rd runway a total of 5.5 million m³ of earth masses were moved in about 30 different soil classes.

By logistic optimization in the planning the large number of soil classes was reduced to a few categories in order to achieve a feasible concept.

Due to a temporal analysis and a optimization of the flow of materials, the reuse of the soil could be maximized and the intermediate storage as well as the transport routes could be minimized.
